Golden Circle of Champions provides opportunities for kids facing life-threatening illnesses to be champion rodeo cowboys and cowgirls for a day.“ The Lower Mainland’s newest rodeo, Valley West Stampede is getting set to host its 4th annual event in just over a month. Run by former Cloverdale Rodeo organizers, Valley West runs its rodeo out of Langley Riders Arena on Labour Day weekend.

Langley’s annual Valley West Stampede is swinging back around to give crowds a bucking good time this upcoming Labour Day weekend. Now in its fourth year, athletes across the North American circuit are coming to Langley to compete for $15,000 in each of the four events: bareback, ladies barrel racing, saddle bronc and bull riding.

This year, Valley West has chosen a Cloverdale kid to be its first-ever Golden Circle Champion. Organizers from Valley West were in Cloverdale at Stampede Tack and Western Wear Aug. 25 to outift that champion—eight-year-old Eliana Garon—in cowboy boots, hat, and other Western accoutrements.

It was the biggest Valley West Stampede yet. A record 18,082 attended the three-day pro rodeo over the Labour Day weekend in Langley, the biggest turnout in the four-year history of the event, beating the previous record of 17,882 set in 2024.
